First of all, Happy Valentines day 💕for those celebrating this year and Happy February 14th for those living the independence dream. 👏Can you believe it's already February 2020? Do you ever think what the history books will say about the decade ahead? I certainly do. As an optimist, I can only hope the 20s bring more progress than suffering.
I spent a little time working on an opinion piece about the future of 5G and where the telecom infrastructure of the future is going. If you haven't read in the news, 5G and the technology company at the forefront, Huawei, is making headlines. The U.S has banned the company entering U.S markets and the Brits, along with some European countries, have invited a partial partnership from the 5G giant. Here's a little bit from the article where I try to lay out all sides of what is turning into a controversial debate:
↙️
Huawei is a pioneer in 5G technology and soon 5G will be everywhere. The question is, do countries take a chance on the controversial Chinese company? Does Huawei truly have holes in its privacy promises? Do the accusations of spying capabilities size up to the evidence presented? What evidence is presented by countries concerned? What is the probability that Huawei is simply a victim of false rumors? And if the rumors are accurate, what are the alternatives to 5G implementation? How desirable is 5G, exactly? And what happens if a country falls behind this technical advancement?
(I will be publishing the entire piece somewhere → Not sure where yet)

Google Sheets: My Excel Replacement ...

Moving away from politics, I want to share my love of spreadsheets. I have an affinity for putting values into cells and organizing data. I'm one of those planners, a talker, not a doer. Preparing for a project is far more exciting than finding the solutions to difficult problems. However, if I can make a system that helps solve my project's problems, I'm on board.
I used Excel for a long time for various client work, personal projects and full-time gigs as a project manager. Now, with the introduction of Notion into my life and a drive to place everything into the all-in-one app, I'm switching to Google Sheets. There is no serious difference between the two applications.
Also, Google Sheets is far more compatible with Notion. And I've found that I can even embed a spreadsheet into my workspace and edit it inside Notion!

How To Embed & Edit Google Sheets Inside Notion

Embed a link to the spreadsheet: "/embed google drive" → connect account → choose document
Embed a link to edit: Go to sharing options → select "Anyone with the link can edit" →

→ "/embed" → copy and paste spreadsheet link

My Favorite Podcast

Thought I'd share my favorite podcast of all time, Philosophize This!
It's a fairly popular podcast but I thought I'd share anyway for those who haven't come around to it yet. Below is the latest episode on Friedrich Von Hayek ...

My Mood This Week

I'm planning to track my mood through the entire year in order to better understand what is making my poor days poor and what I need to do to fix them - hence, the "cause" property.
