Hi, Hello! My name is Sarah - the writer behind redgregory.com.
There has been an unordinary pattern of dullness over the past couple weeks. Dullness isn't a word I'd use in a positive light but this dullness is pleasantly dull - opposed to the chaos of December. 2020 is starting on odd footing - less intense, anxious, an absence of seasonal depression. I'm content.
This week has entailed my usual "dog sitting" duties for my father. I'm privileged to work from home and so everyone turns to me for babysitting and dog care. I don't mind. It gets me out of the house and motivated.
I've never been a steady "go getter" or time-management master but sticking to a writing routine and health regimen is slowly turning me into one of those people. I've even started going on runs in the morning and meal prepping. Who am I becoming?
The red gregory side hustle is progressing nicely. At about 4 articles per week, I have my hands full. Like my dullness, however, it's a pleasant stressor. I recommend a side hustle to anyone too comfortable with their day job especially.

I'm Working On A Huge Wiki!
An Information Centre
This year I set myself a challenge: Create a robust wiki.
I didn't get to explain this idea properly last week. Essentially, I want a hub for online information using webclipper that is then congregated into a massive information centre. From there I plan to tag the hell out of these documents, implement document IDs, citing resources and the like. This will act something like a library for those seeking to learn a particular subject without doing a tedious web search crawl for the best resources.
Life Learning & Fun Wikis
- On the other hand, I want to create a notes wiki for everything I choose to consume this year. The short-hand information pages will be congregated as well.
- I have made a template (soon to be published) for reading comprehension and note-taking assistance in the style of a story-map wiki of sorts. I want to publish my own reading notes as well for my "100 books in a year" goal (I'm currently on book 3).
Red Gregory Goals Update
Last week's goals
- I managed to simplify Red Gregory quite a bit. I removed the "curated templates" section because the turnaround rate of public templates from google results are slim (more people need to make their templates public for this to work).
- I'm still contemplating the YouTube goal - perhaps a mission for the next couple months.
Buy a nice camera
- Yes! I'm finally on Twitter. You can follow me here.
New Goals (a refinement mission)
- Reply to emails more efficiently going forward.
I'm feeling extremely inspired and lucky to have lovely emails coming into my inbox on the subject of workflows and productivity. I love chatting about projects and notion and general lifestyle stuff with others. It really gets me going.
For those high achievers prone to burnout and disappointment due to strict expectations, I'm one of you. Let's talk about it. If you want to vent about time-management woes or brainstorm or even share your cool ideas, don't hesitate to drop me a message.
- Do not plan so goddamn much, girl!
Self explanatory. We've been through this before. Excessive planning is an energy waster. Get it together. 😜
- Keep it up! Consistency is looking good
I don't have to be too hard on myself this week. I managed to publish 5 articles, get a nice message from my boss, take the dogs to the park every morning and hang with friends in the evenings. I don't want to jinx myself, but hopefully next week is just as productive ...
[Reflection for next week] Did I jinx myself?
My Mood Tracking Database Thus Far
I'm planning to track my mood through the entire year in order to better understand what is making my poor days poor and what I need to do to fix them - hence, the "cause" property.
