Hi, Hello! My name is Sarah - the writer behind redgregory.com. It's been a month of daily blog churn out and I'm going to be honest, it isn't easy. I'm no professional writer but I sure love programming and really anything tech. In other words, I'm trying something new.

A Notion-based newsletter sparked my interest ... not a bad idea. I suppose I can muster one newsletter per week - most likely on Friday evenings. I'll share my favorites of the week here (Notion-related and otherwise). I'll share latest articles from the week as well.
Like everyone else keeping an eye on Notion's progress, an all-in-one app set to replace near everything, I want to push this agenda forward with my content (ie. newsletters, articles, projects, client hubs, etc.) - and when API is finally implemented, hopefully tons more.
Oh, and the best part about Notion taking over web content traditions? This newsletter doesn't require you to check your email. πŸ˜‰

A Rollercoaster Month

β†–οΈŽ Elizabeth (2.5 Years Old) - Coonhound Mix
  • New Dog! - Her name is Elizabeth and she's the sweetest girl. She still has a ways to go transitioning from stray life to domestic, but she's doing great so far! She's even starting to like her sister.
  • New Job Schedule - I have more free time to work on Red Gregory and possible YouTube content in the future.
    • I may also start a podcast but let's not get ahead of ourselves. I'd like to keep things simple at the start. πŸ˜‰
  • Lack of Christmas Spirit - My childhood dog passed away from stomach cancer at the end of last month and it's dampened my holiday mood. I hadn't realized Christmas was here until the day practically came. It was a great day regardless.

Red Gregory Goals

  1. Keep it simple!
      • I'm learning how to use Notion as much as anyone else. The app is relatively new in the grand scheme of things. I don't want to come off as an "expert" or even a productivity guru. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ I just want to share cool things I'm making on the app with straight forward explanations and formulas to copy and paste into the reader's own database.
      • I want Red Gregory to act as a place for inspiration. The effectiveness of productivity systems relies on the unique requirements of the user, of which one template is not one size fits all.
      • To Do πŸš€
        • Create some kind of separation between images and text.
Add "All Articles" button below featured articles.
          Custom featured images (illustration)
  1. Create YouTube content!
      • I don't really know how to go about this ... possibly sit down style videos. But what will I talk about? Productivity? No ... we've already established, I'm not much of an expert in that field. Notion? Sure, I'll use Notion a lot in my videos but I don't want to confine my niche to "how to" videos.
      • Solution πŸ’‘β†’ Vlog through my work day as I wade through client work, life learning, inspiration & how I use Notion as a second brain for everything.
  1. Get on Twitter
      • I've never had a twitter account. I literally have no explanation for this. It's embarrassing frankly. πŸ™ˆ

What I Consumed This Week

The Summer of 1787: The Men Who Invented the Constitution by David O. Stewart

The successful creation of the Constitution is a suspense story. The Summer of 1787 takes us into the sweltering room in which delegates struggled for four months to produce the flawed but enduring document that would define the nation -- then and now.
George Washington presided, James Madison kept the notes, Benjamin Franklin offered wisdom and humor at crucial times.
A timely read for obvious reasons, but more so a sobering tale that translates a distant abstraction into a wholly human display of contradiction, gossip, vexation and heat. And yes, compromise!
